Privacy Policy — Duskward

Last updated: 31 August 2026

In short: Duskward has no account system and no servers of our own. Your game progress stays on your device. Two Google services are used: AdMob, which supplies the ads, and Firebase Analytics, which records anonymous statistics about how runs go. Those are the only ways any information about your device leaves the app.

What we collect

We have no servers and no account system. There is no login, and nothing you type ever leaves your device. We never receive your name, your email address, or any personal information, because the game never asks for any.

From version 1.0.3 the game reports anonymous gameplay statistics through Google Firebase Analytics: how long a run lasted, which Descent tier it was, the level reached, whether it was won or abandoned, and whether an optional ad offer was shown and completed. These tell us whether the game is too hard or too easy. They are not linked to your identity, and they contain no free text — there is nothing in them that could identify you.

Measurement follows your consent choice. Analytics is switched off when the game starts and is enabled only after the consent step described below has been resolved. If you are in a region where consent is required and you decline, no statistics are collected at all.

Advertising

Duskward shows ads through Google AdMob. When an ad is requested, Google receives your device's advertising ID, IP address, and general device and app information in order to select, deliver and measure the ad. This data goes to Google, not to us. Google's handling of it is governed by its own policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Two kinds of ad appear:

You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device. Doing so does not affect your game progress.

Consent, if you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland

The first time you open the game, Google's User Messaging Platform will ask for your consent choices regarding personalised advertising, and your answer is respected on every subsequent ad request. You can change it later from the privacy options the form provides.

What is stored on your device

The game saves your progress in your device's local app storage:

This never leaves your device. It is included in Android's system backup if you have that enabled, in which case Google handles it under your own Google account settings, not ours. Uninstalling the app deletes it. "Erase all progress" in Settings deletes it immediately.

Children

Duskward is not directed at children under 13. It contains no chat, no user-generated content and no social features. Ad requests are configured for the app's content rating.

Your rights

Because no personal data reaches us, there is no account with us to access, correct, export or delete. The data the game holds is on your device and under your control: clear it from the game's Settings, from Android's app storage settings, or by uninstalling. For the advertising identifier, reset or delete it in Android's own Settings → Privacy → Ads, and use the consent options described above to control personalised advertising.

Changes

Ratings

The game may occasionally ask the Google Play Store to show its own rating card after a particularly good run. The card is drawn by the Play Store, not by us: we are never told whether it appeared, nor what rating you gave, and nothing in the game is unlocked or rewarded for using it.

If a future version changes what is collected, this policy will be updated before that version is released, the change will be noted in the release notes, and the Play Store Data safety section will be updated to match.
